On Wednesday night, President Trump announced that the U.S. would be withdrawing from the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), a landmark global treaty that sets a legal framework for international negotiations to address climate change.
Experts say pulling the U.S. out of more than 60 global organizations will weaken international governance structures and lead to further fragmentation of global power.
The groups include the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, among many others.
Former Vice President Al Gore, who served alongside of President Bill Clinton, condemned President Donald Trump's move to withdraw the U.S. from climate-related initiatives.
